Are you ready for an easy way to start your next painting? Learn to create a simple collage on canvas that can be used for a future mixed media painting backgrounds. I start many of my mixed media paintings with collage because it’s fun and unintimidating. It also adds great texture underneath your paintings. (All of these materials are acrylic and work well with acrylic paint.)

What this Class Includes:

Ability Level/Prerequisites:

  • Beginner to Advanced

Materials List:

  • Papers that you would like to collage (mainly black & white, and neutral-colored)  including rice papers, letters, torn book pages, food wrappers, wine labels, etc. NOTE: glossy magazines do not work well for this process
  • A medium sized canvas
  • Golden soft gel (This is your “glue” and should be mixed with half water in a jar)
  • A 2″ (or so) color shaper or an old credit card
  • A 2” -3” paint brush
  • Apron or rubber gloves
  • Scissors
  • Old towel or paper towels for messes
  • Water jar
  • Jars for brushes and glue
