Montrose, Colorado, June 10-11, 2017 from 10-3pm
“Nobody sees a flower – really –
it is so small it takes time –
we haven’t time – and to see takes time,
like to have a friend takes time.” – Georgia O’Keefe
Join us in the delightful gardens of local artist Shirley Novak, just south of Montrose, Colorado. In this is unique opportunity, we’ll spend our mornings painting in our art journals around these lovely gardens. *All materials are included* . After a refreshing lunch break in the gardens, we’ll head into the brand-new, on-sight studio, to turn our mornings sketches into free and expressive mixed media paintings. Explore a variety of mixed media painting techniques, including incorporating watercolor flowers onto canvas, and creating a painting on canvas with a variety of mediums.
Let go of the traditional thoughts of shadows and correct colors, and learn to capture the essence of flowers in these colorful private gardens. Discover what happens when you allow experiments to play into your painting, and try things you haven’t. Let go a little more and allow your intuition and spirit to play a hand. You’ll come home with a new art journal, two canvases, and a relaxing weekend of giving the gift of an artful weekend to yourself

This sounds AWESOME but, boo hoo, I won’t be able to make that weekend. We will have just gotten back from a trip to OR for our niece’s graduation and bummer, I will have to work that Saturday.😭😭 Fingers crossed this workshop is highly successful so you might offer another. I LOVE flowers! Maybe you could video it and offer it as an online class….😀 Have a terrific day!
Hi Kathleen, We will miss your lovely spirit, it would have been a treat to have you here! And thanks for the idea of making this into an online class– I love that! xoxo
This sounds wonderful! Unfortunately, it is not a good weekend for me 🙁
Looking forward to being able to join you another time this summer.
Hi Arline, we’ll miss you, but hope to paint with you sometime in the future 🙂
