This mixed media aspen tree painting began as something I was creating for a client. It started out with lots of intricate background details. Which ended up being covered by paint. Here’s how it looked in its early stages:
I don’t know whether this is bad or good that all of these lovely details were covered. Several times during the process my intuition, which I usually listen to, told me to do another thing with this painting. But I stayed true to what I needed to do for the job, and here we are.
Each painting simply has its own journey, just like each person. Just like each day.
Sometimes paintings just need to get done, so we can move on to the next brilliant piece. (Don’t you love it when that happens!?)
I feel my style is about to evolve, but I don’t know where to. I’m very excited to just paint for fun and creativity, and nothing else. It’s time for complete freedom.
Stay tuned!
