Summer is finally in full swing here in Colorado and the colors are tremendous. I couldn’t resist painting the bright and cheerful sunflowers on my kitchen table.
At 22″ x 30″ the painting is full of movement and color. It began with watercolor and went to fun lines with india ink. There is lots of movement in this piece.
In order to satisfy my need for terra firma, I balanced the free form brush strokes with some pastel color blocks. I found the geometry peaceful.
The painting was finished off with type and hand-made stamps.
