Through exciting mixed media and contemporary painting skills, mixed media artist Kellie Day will guide you on a four day/four night exclusive retreat designed to renew your spirit while expanding your art through nature and nurture.

Highlights

Spend four days and nights at the relaxing luxury home of our host Marian Armstrong (or overnight at local Flagstaff lodging). Located in the heart of the pines beneath the San Francisco Peaks, connect with yourself and other creatives in a natural environment teaming with inspiring energy. Recharge your excitement for your own art, discover a deeper connection with your art and soul, and head home with a rested heart and newly inspired paintings.

In a nurturing setting and a warm, supportive environment, Kellie will guide you to tap into internal and external inspiration that will fuel your artistic fire. Then Kellie will show you how to translate all of your unique inspiration into beautiful mixed media paintings that reflect who YOU ARE, and what’s important to you.

Whether you are an experienced artist, just starting out or getting back to your practice after a break, Kellie will show you:

• The art of being in nature as inspiration to fuel your creative fire. Through hikes, collecting objects and observing, you will discover what touches your heart that will help inform your creativity.

• Exercises and ways to explore your own expressive way of painting; Kellie will guide you towards your unique expression that reveals what delights you and makes you feel most alive. This, too, will inspire your canvas.

• How to use an art journal as a way to create studies for larger paintings, and explore your inspirations in a no-pressure way.

• How to use mixed media including collage, paint and more to build a cohesive and nature-inspired piece of art.

• How to incorporate pattern and glorious colors, to create emotion, attraction and pure delight.

• Through exercises that explore shape, line, texture and color, you will build layers using a variety of high quality GOLDEN acrylics and Silver Brush Limited brushes, mark making tools and a variety of mixed media.

• You will have the unique opportunity to use high quality GOLDEN acrylics and mediums and Silver Brush Limited brushes. Kellie will show you how to use these products to make layers and transparencies to create texture and captivating images in your work.

• You will learn a number of formal and informal techniques that will help you build an ongoing creative practice.

• This is much more than an art class and a series of art lessons. It is a rich immersion in finding inspiration and your unique artistic voice.

Mixed Media Painter Kellie Day is excited to take you on this journey, hosted by Marian Armstrong.

Kellie is a well-known artist, educator and the owner of Transform Your Art Mentoring Program. She is a master mixed media artist and a GOLDEN Paints Art Educator. Kellie has created artworks for companies like Trader Joes, The North Face and more. She brings a wealth of knowledge along with high quality, professional materials. Marian is a local real estate guru, mom, and host of retreats, happy hours and women's groups.  She is passionate about opening space for people to connect and create. Together they bring you a wholistic art making experience at a peaceful location that will nurture your creative soul. 

Your Retreat Includes:

• Four days of facilitated art workshops, with closing circle

Retreat Cost is $1397 or $1197 early bird before April 7

(not including accommodations or transportation)

Retreat participants may book a room on location (all are booked at this time), or local hotel recommendations are below. You will receive lodging information as soon as you register.

Transportation to be arranged and paid by participant.

The closest airports are Flagstaff Pulliam (11 miles from retreat location/20minutes) or Phoenix Sky Harbor(156 miles/2.5 hour drive).

The art retreat begins Friday June 9 through Monday June 12, with a welcome meet and greet the evening of Thursday June 8.

PREREQUISITES
No experience is required to attend this retreat. 

CANCELLATION POLICY
There are no refunds for this retreat unless we are able to fill your spot. A $100 cancellation fee will apply if we are able to fill your spot. We recommend that you secure trip insurance in case of any emergencies.

CONFIRMATION
Once you are enrolled in the retreat, you will receive several emails with details regarding the schedule, accommodations, and activities.

THURSDAY June 8

2pm-5pm: Arrive

5-6pm: Welcome Meet & Greet happy hour. Wine/Tea Appetizers served

FRIDAY June 9

7:30-8:30am:  Forest Walk with Marian, leave from retreat house. 

9am–12pm: Introduction & Welcome talk with Kellie. Expressive painting 

12-1pm:  Lunch Break - on your own or participate in group take out order to be delivered

1pm-4pm:  Mixed Media Painting with Kellie Day. Playing with tools & techniques

5-6pm: OPTIONAL Happy Hour Sip & Snacks provided

6pm: Dinner on your own - Grab a buddy and enjoy strolling around the quaint downtown. We'll recommended our favorite spots!

SATURDAY June 10

8-Noon: Half day hike with Art Journaling – gather inspiration in the forest for our paintings.

12pm-1pm: Brown bag lunch on Marian’s porch, provided

1-4pm:  Start your 3-part canvas Painting with Kellie 

5-6pm:  Happy hour on the patio in the pines

6-8pm – INCLUDED:  Farm to Table Catered Dinner - We are excited to present this special, localized event

SUNDAY JUNE 11TH

7:30–8:30am:  Yoga class on site: or Forest walk

9-12pm:  Painting with Kellie: Developing your canvas, as Kellie guides you

12-1pm:  Lunch Break - on your own or participate in group take out order to be delivered

1-4pm:  Painting with Kellie: Continue on your canvas/es

4:30-6:00pm: Craft Happy Hour – Come for a cocktail and if you wish, make your own essential oil sugar scrubs, lavender spray or bath bombs with Marian. All craft ingredients provided + drinks/snacks 

6pm: Dinner on your own - Grab a buddy and enjoy strolling around the quaint downtown. We'll recommended our favorite spots!

MONDAY  June 12

7:30-8:30am – Morning Stroll or Workout with Marian

9am-12pm – Finish your paintings with Kellie

12:30-1pm – Brown bag onsite lunch

1pm -3pm – Share your Art and Closing Ceremony
