Green Flower Painting with Blue Vase
I call this painting 'AHHAA Moment' because it all began when I was teaching flower painting at the AHHAA School in Telluride, Colorado. The one-of-a-kind blue vase with big white circles PLUS all the flowers are all made from handmade papers that I created during this class.
Originally the background was grey, and as you can see from the short video below, I took it home and thought 'This needs some fresh spring greens instead!' Now you can see big passionate drips running down the canvas onto that whimsical yellow tablecloth. The whole thing feels fresh and alive - and a little bit wild, like flowers picked and tossed into your favorite vase.
This 30" x 24" mixed-media piece brings a very unique burst of color and texture to your wall. Each handmade paper element has its own story from that special day, along with hand drawn Gold Iridescent lines - no other painting like this exists anywhere!
