With all the difficult things happening in the world right now, I present to you something beautiful.

I give to you a moment to take a reprieve, enjoy a deep breath, and relax.

The school shooting hits a deep chord with this mother, and I know I need a moment. Yet despite all the facebook posts and how much my heart hurts, I still paint beauty. This is not on purpose, it’s just what comes out. And I’m glad. The world needs beauty.

The world also needs us to take action right now. We need passionate souls who will scream and shout, because without this nothing can get done. And I have posted some actions down below, if you are interested.

 I hope that in some way these butterflies help the souls of those 12 children rise up to a more beautiful place, where there are only nerf guns, unicorns and puffy white clouds.

When my son is having a hard day, that’s what I say to him when I kiss him goodnight. First we get it all out and talk about what’s real. But then, when it’s time to sleep, I tell him, “unicorns, rainbows and puffy clouds”. Because we must all rest. And we must all see the incredible beauty that walks beside us, alongside this pain. This is the balance that our universe is. It is not, unfortunately, all puffy clouds.

Action you can take on gun safety in our country:

• Demand that your representatives state their position on gun control.
• If your representative is accepting $ from the NRA, they need to be replaced.
• Call your congresspeople.
• Most importantly, VOTE IN 2018 TO ELECT REPRESENTATIVES WHO WILL PASS SANE GUN CONTROL LEGISLATION.
• Tell people to register to vote. Anything you can do to convince people to vote is vital. This cannot be overstated. We have less than 9 months
