Magic and the Arrival of Dreams

I always thought I would feel I’d arrived as an artist with an exhibit in a hot, NYC gallery. Smiling, black dress, people milling about viewing my latest creations … but something clicked this weekend about success, and the arrival of dreams. An artist I admire was telling me why she hadn’t […]

Sun Worshippers

It took me a while to realize that all the goldfish were lined up facing the sun. I was sitting at the Ouray fish pond doing studies of the fish for my next series of paintings. Easter morning, everyone’s at church… the sun had just come over the “Pool Wall” […]

Desert Waters

Can you feel it? The heat on your shoulders bearing down, the cool green (or brown) splash of the desert river. The rocking of the boat like a mother’s arms. Water in the desert. A paradox of the greatest kind. Greens, blues, browns, oranges – all equally intense out here. […]

Blue Lakes Inspiration

Having grown quite tired of painting orchids, I hiked off to Blue Lakes with Monke and Johanna this weekend for new inspiration. Despite the lake being surrounded by flowers, I was drawn to the rocks. What peace in the tranquil blue water and emerald hillside. This canvas is the result […]
