Gospel of BIrds

"Gospel of Birds" is a tribute to the delight of the senses provided by the arrival of spring birds. Up close, you can see layers and textures that I built up from collaged papers, and glazes of paints and gels. The branches are made with rich, metallic copper, and lines of gold highlight the flowers and bird art. Pinks, creams and all the colors you'd expect from a summer blossom dance about the canvas. Chinese newspapers and rice papers define the collaged birds, with glazes of smoky blues, and gold embellishments.
