Mariposa - Butterflies Painting

Mariposa, the Spanish word for butterfly, and the interconnected web of all things. A new painting, 30” x 15”… There’s no feeling like when a painting you love just flows out of you. I had just come home from a retreat in Santa Fe and was deeply inspired.

This mixed media painting has many gorgeous rice papers and fiber papers collaged into the butterflies' wings. I created these winged creatures with Iridescent Gold paint lines. You'll see transparent botanicals buried in the layers beneath, in a soft, dream like feel. These butterflies are completely free.
