Early Peonies
Mixed media peony painting.
I treated myself to TWO bunches of peonies at the market this weekend, and had to paint them. I focused on the senses in this painting, as opposed to focusing on creating the flowers realistically. I wanted to viewer to feel the petals, and smell the fragrance.... to experience these flowers in the most soothing way possible. This painting is pure femininity and relaxation.
