Spray Paint Aspens 2
I began this aspen tree painting with layers of spray painted stencils. Simply intuitive mark making with no rhyme or reason. This painting, and Spray Paint Aspens 1, were inspired by a recent hike to "Bridge of Heaven", outside of Ouray, Colorado. I layered textured rice papers on to the canvas, to create the horizontal lines on the aspen bark, and painted leave with more layers of transparent acrylic paint and gels.
