Eternal Tulips

This painting is a many -layered mixed media piece of rich colors and textures. It started with buying a pot of tulips at the store, and then I couldn't help but paint them. I began with a black and white illustration, and then collaged on many papers, and painted patterns with stencils and fluorescent paints. I made Gelli-plate prints and used these handmade prints for the tulip vase. There are real Gold Mica Flakes in the petals. You can see photos of the process on my Instagram account here.
