“Day of the Dead originated several thousand years ago with the Aztec, Toltec, and other Nahua people, who considered mourning the dead disrespectful. Day of the dead started in Mexico, but is celebrated all over Latin America with colorful calaveras (skulls). In this class, you’ll make your own, original Skull Stamp! BUAHHAHAAHA, that you can take home and use again and again.
There are endless variations of art you can make with your skull stamp, or just a sharpie and paper. In this video, I'll guide you in making your own “Mini” mixed media, Day of the Dead painting with your skull! You can do this on a canvas, some heavy watercolor paper, or a cradled wood board like I'm using.
Get psyched for color, skulls and celebration in this festive painting class! You’ll be able to create your own unique skull and then make more!
