Collage Flowers in Vase
My sister Mollie was coming to town, and I painted the guestroom and decided it needed new art to brighten her stay! I made these big mixed media flowers out of hand made collage papers. Each paper was a unique print pulled from a Gelli Plate, and collaged onto a deeply brush white canvas for this clean, uplifting bouquet!
These collage flowers in vase remind me a bit of a Matisse flower painting in a hand, that was hanging on my wall as a child. It must have seeped into my influences, and become an inspiration for this colorful, uplifting floral painting. The background has rich white texture, and you can see the thick brush strokes.
