San Juan Mountain Ranch
This is the view we see as we drive to Telluride, Colorado, going past Ralph Lauren's 9,000 acre ranch. These San Juan Mountains are also the view outside my art studio window. Needless to say, I am endlessly inspired by this landscape. If you've read anything on this website, you may have heard me talk about how our little town is surrounded by ranches. In the spring the only traffic jam is one of the cowboys and girls, herding these "dogies" down the main street.
I began this painting by making my own collage papers with Gelli Plates, and creating the peaceful landscape. Then I finished by adding a few cows this morning.
