Be an Artist in 2020

be an artist in 2020- with art mentor kellie day

This video is taken from my facebook group, Transform Your Art from Dabbling to Professional Quality

Where will you be with your art in 2020? Will this be another year of thinking about your art, or doing it?

The problem isn’t that women aren’t good enough, it’s that they often don’t know how to make their art happen. It’s intimidating. Maybe they start a few paintings and don’t love them. Often times women know they’ve always been creative, but don’t know where to go next.

  • They try online videos and classes, but it’s overwhelming putting all the pieces together.
  • They feel all the creativity they have inside, but don’t have the plan for how to get their own personal expression out on canvas.
  • Or if they do, it’s only happening when they watch a video, or copy someone else’s painting.
  • Or worse yet, they compare themselves with others, feel they could never be that good, and it shuts them down totally and they don’t paint at all, or only sporadically.
  • Sometimes women wonder if anyone would even buy their paintings.

A lot of women come to me with these concerns. They’re tired of feeling bad about themselves for so many years gone by, and never using their creative gift to make art.

It starts to wear on their self-esteem. They take care of everyone else, and put themselves last, and after years of this it begins to affect their health and happiness.

Did you know that you could be making your best paintings ever, within just a couple of months?

It sounds crazy, but it’s true. And if you’ve watched any of the interviews I’ve done with my students, like Dede recently, you’ll see it’s possible for you too.

The key is, they just needed a plan for knowing how to move forward, and the support to do it. The encouragement from someone who’s been there.

Women need much more than another online video or class, if they are truly going to be an artist in 2020. They need SUPPORT AND A PLAN.

This is what I call, “the GAP skills”. These are the things that workshops and classes and youtube videos don’t cover.

I give my students a plan that includes these key things that go WAY beyond techniques:

  1. How to put the materials they love into artworks that express who they are.
  2. How to tap into their own inspirations to get ideas for WHAT to paint
  3. A process to stop copying and start easily any time, even when they don’t have ideas
  4. The support and tools to start believing in themselves, and know they have something worthwhile to share
  5. How to create a body of work, and even book a show and start selling
  6. Some of them even learn how to share their creative gifts to help others.

The only question you have to ask yourself is, do you want to express your heart in 2020?  Or do you want to keep thinking about it, and be in the same place in 2022?

  • Do you want to be like Dede (you can watch her interview here) and do a show and feel happy again?
  • Do you want to be like Melody, and share your gift by teaching others?
  • Do you want to be like Cristin, and finally believe you really are an artist and create a series of beautiful paintings – and have fun doing it?

This is completely possible for YOU. If you don’t want 2020 to be another year of not using your painting gifts, and you’re ready to feel that incredible feeling of waking up excited to paint, I can help.

Do you need help to know how to begin?

If you are at a  turning point, and realizing time is short, and you want to make an incredible mark with your art. If you’re Ready to do something different, and get the support you need to make it happen … I would love to help you.

“I am most proud of the fact that I actually took a step forward and made a decision to take this course without consulting anyone else’s opinion because I know I would have been talked out of it and would’ve ended up very resentful and stuck. I enjoyed every minute because it was something I did for me and me alone.” – Michele
