Japanese Flower Arrangement, painting

This piece began while teaching a painting workshop in Telluride Colorado. Natalie had commissioned a special flower arrangement for our class. It was unlike other bouquets I had seen, with aspen leaves, and unique flowers with big pops of color and a fabulous arrangement. It reminded me of my granny's Japanese flower arrangements. 

 

Using hand made papers, gold lines and thick brush strokes with bold colors, I just finished up this piece in time for my upcoming June exhibit at 610 Arts Collective.
