So often I hear women say they are neglecting taking enough time for themselves. OR they say “Yeah, I do exercise and meditate” – but not really doing it on a deep level.
They believe they have to take care the house first, the work first or the kids first. They are literally AFRAID that if they stop and take a quiet hour to nurture themselves that they are being SELFISH.
OR that everything around them will somehow fall apart.
You can’t make art from staring at a blank canvas. Creating Art comes from tuning into greater inspiration.
And that only happens by taking time and space for ourselves to allow inspiration to through us. It is the pre-curser to creating all art. You have to absorb the beauty around you and truly feel it if you are to fully convey it in your paintings.
Inspiration literally comes from the words In + Spirit. When you are in spirit you are relaxed, you are breathing more deeply, in you’re experiencing your senses instead of the million thoughts that are in your head making you frantic.
Your senses are what you convey to the world through your Art.
What I mean by that is –
Be aware of the choices you make:
**Which of these 2 choices do you think will bring to fruition more impactful Art?
You might be asking me, “How will I get anything done if I’m going around smelling the flowers all day?”… This isn’t about giving up your whole day, it’s about creating a routine, or a ritual for taking a little time for yourself each day, and simply slowing down. This is how you begin to live as an Artist.
How many of you are half-assing your self care? Or not doing it at all?
How many of you are telling yourself, “Yea I’m good at self care”, but having really experienced the deep effect it ca have on your art when you really experience deep nurturing.
Nobody like a martyr.
Martyrs are exhausted, cranky, and no one respects them because they aren’t standing up for what THEY need.
Martyrs are push-overs and people who think they don’t have value unless they sacrifice themselves. And if that’s you, it’s not your fault. You were probably raised to believe that. But if so, it’s time to let it go.
I want to read this quote from the Desiderada that someone gave me when I was ten years old:
It’s time to let that lifetime training go. If you’re a martyr ask yourself –
Successful, healthy amazing, fully-living people rock their self care. It’s what they do Because they know that you don’t get something from nothing.
If you have a creative calling and you’re neglecting your self care, chances are you are neglecting your Art as well – and therefore will never really rock your Art, and make gorgeous paintings regularly.
Because guess what? (and here’s the take-home message)
Your Art IS your Self Care.
If you have a creative calling and you are neglecting your art, you are neglecting your SOU.
We must take action towards our dream if you want to make it happen. Your dreams don’t come to fruition by thinking about them for years while you keep the house up.
I have opened a few times on my calendar this week to speak with a few women who are committed to taking their art to the next level now, and ready to get the support you need to make a big leap forward with your Art. If I feel that I can help you, we can talk about what that looks like.
If that’s you, you can book your call at kelliedayart.com/booking … These calls are going fast these days, as my program has become very successful. So if you’re serious about your Art – don’t wait.
*Please don’t book a call with me if you are just looking for free information, these calls are only for women who are ready to work with an Art Mentor in our time-tested program, and ready to invest in themselves. Read the reviews here.
You have to take action on your dreams to make them happen.
If you’re ready to start expressing your heart and soul with your Art, I can’t wait to talk with you!
