From Graphic Design to a Travel-Inspired Art Collection – An Interview with Artist Terri Goodness

Interview with artist Terri Goodness

Twenty five years ago Terri went to Art school, but life’s responsibilities took priority and she devoted herself to raising her children and caring for her father-in-law and the family business. As life got busier, Terri began feeling less happy and missing the days when Art was her passion. Her husband began encouraging her to find what she loved in life.

She kept thinking she had to do all this planning before she started painting, and it felt really heavy, so she kept procrastinating her art.

Terri wanted to take all the beauty that she saw from her travels and put it into Art. She was busy working as a graphic designer, her Art was stuck and her ideas never seemed to go anywhere. She was all over the place and worried what other people would think. Terri was at a point in her life where she was ready to have freedom, lightness of being and expression.

In less than six months she went from being in a box with how she created, to finding total freedom with her art, and taking her travel inspirations and bringing them home to create larger paintings and series.

Listen to her inspiring interview to hear how she did it…

Terri wanted to take all the beauty that she saw from her travels and put it into Art. She was busy working as a graphic designer, her Art was stuck and her ideas never seemed to go anywhere. She was all over the place and worried what other people would think. Terri was at a point in her life where she was ready to have freedom, lightness of being and expression.

Terri knew she needed a roadmap and a solid direction on where to go. She knew she needed something to push her in the right direction of painting – something that was an expression of her, and not what a client wanted.

Listen to her journey here, of how she made this creative transition from creating for others to creating for herself, and finding true purpose in her life.

“Now I wake up in the morning, and I’ve given myself permission to just be happy, and not have to feel the weight of every single day having to accomplish something, and now I just appreciate those moments of putting brush to canvas, and I’m so much happier when I’m doing it.”

She has found a style and a voice using materials she never would have tried. And most of all, she can now bring her painting into her travels and discover inspirations that she can bring home into her paintings!

“I just feel so much more open and happy now.”

Ps. If you’re like Terri was, and you want to learn how to find more happiness, express your creativity and have that artistic purpose, you can book an Art Breakthrough Call with me like she did, and find out how I can help you too!  (Please don’t book a call with me if you are just looking for free information.) These calls are for women who are ready to work with an Art Mentor, invest in themselves, and transform their Art now. If that’s you, I’d love to talk with you.
