From School Teacher to Artist- an interview with Carla Chantry

from Elementary School Teacher to Artist- an interview with Carla Chantry

Carla was retiring from teaching for 27 years. She needed to get back to her art again; it was something within her heart. She had always had a passion for art, and she wasn’t fulfilled without it.

Together we worked to help her transition from teacher to artist and develop a style and a method for painting that is exciting. Today Carla has created many series of paintings, had numerous shows, won awards, and has sold more paintings than she can count.

Hear about how she did in this inspiring interview…

“This is ME, this is what comes out of me, it’s not like I’m going and finding a picture and doing it. I’m actually creating that picture and then painting it.”

Carla was having a hard time getting back into her art, and wasn’t feeling like her paintings were really “her” – or good enough to show. She didn’t’ feel like she was painting through her and for her.

Her husband had a passion for fishing, and they traveled to make that happen, but she wanted to feel that purpose for herself.

“I’ve dealt with these issues for that last 30 years and I’m not getting any younger.”

As retirement got closer, she wanted to be painting again so bad, but she became increasingly blocked, and she couldn’t get a painting finished.

Together we helped her transition from teacher to Artist, and develop a style and a method for painting that was exciting. Now she has created many series of paintings, had numerous shows, won awards, and has sold more paintings that she can count.

Now Carla feels like she found “her” in her work. Everything changed for her when she started to believe in herself.

“Before I always felt I wasn’t putting ME out there, I was copying someone else rather than being that person that created from her heart. I was missing being me ….  and now I feel like I’m coming around to me.”

By reconnecting with her painting, Carla now has her own purpose and passion – for the rest of her life!

Hear about her path, how she sparked her flourishing painting practice, found her direction that led to exhibitions, awards, sales and a newfound lifelong passion in this inspiring interview!

Enjoy,

Kellie
