A Sneak Peek into My Desert Art Exhibit

a sneak peak into my desert art exhibit with kellie day

I made this little video to share with you the meaning and influences of these paintings I’ve been creating over the last 8 months. But also, to give you a glimpse of what it takes to create a body of work, and what an artist goes through.

My upcoming solo exhibit featuring these paintings and more, will be shown for all of June at the Telluride Arts Headquarters on the main street of Telluride, Colorado. The opening reception will be June 6 at 5pm-8pm.

So here it is… a Sneak Peek into My Desert Art Exhibit. Enjoy!

How all artists create a body of work is different. For this show I was asked to commit to a theme and I chose the desert – one of my longest and deepest influences.

The desert is embedded in my heart. And it may have all started when my Granny sent me a card with Bryce Canyon on the cover, and the words, “No Limits but the Sky”.

I think those words and that picture guided my life for the next 20 years as I became a Wilderness Ranger in Sedona and began an unrelenting and passionate journey to explore our deserts in the southwest U.S.

Enjoy this video to catch a glimpse, hear the stories, and see the process of creating a body of work.

Thanks for being here,

Kellie
