Creating Your One Precious Art Life

Creating Your One Precious Art Life

Today a friend sent me one of my favorite quotes by Mary Oliver, “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”

I remembered that life is not an arrival. It is a step by step choice leading you to the life of your dreams….

…where each step seems small at the time, but as years go by, you see where you have landed.

If you are not where you had wished with your Art, ask yourself, “What have I protected in order to arrive at this place?”

Some women take a path that is not true to their hearts, because they are protecting their fears. Or because someone told them it wasn’t possible, or that they weren’t good enough… and slowly they began to believe it.

Women tell me that when they wake up at this middle age place, and realize they have not arrived where they meant to be, it eats away at them.

That NOT valuing their creative calling over the years feels like betraying themselves.

That they do not feel complete.

And yet, despite their pain of not living their truest life, many of them stay on their untrue path, contemplating what they should have done, and letting another year slip by of not doing their art.

They think that by doing nothing, their art will somehow happen on it’s own.

Unfortunately it won’t happen on its own. And another year has slipped by as proof of that.

But there are some women that say enough is enough, “I have waited long enough, it’s time for my dream.”

… And they seek help in making their Art life – their one wild and precious life – come true.

Like my student Kathleen, who spent 2020 taking care of her loved ones, experiencing loss, retiring early from teaching art, sewing thousands of masks, and finally deciding it was time for her art.

Now she has begun her art, the year is almost over, but she KNOWS that 2021 is the year of her Art.

  • This makes her incredibly emotional and happy. She has finally chosen her.
  • She is making meaningful paintings.
  • She has a community of Artists who are supporting her,
  • and she has guidance to see what she is really capable of.

Choosing YOU, valuing YOU, is not selfish, as many women tell themselves. It is using your greatest abilities. Which you were not given to be wasted.

When you choose you, and you are happy and finally complete…. You are better for everyone and everything around you.

Today Kathleen told me that someone wants to be a print of her new painting. Even though she’s only been back at it for two weeks. Even though I’m ecstatic for her, I see this all the time!

Once you commit to your Art, doors open. More doors than you can ever imagine.

If you do not want another year to slip by, and you want 2021 to be the year of your Art – if you have tried and tried on your own, but nothing is working, I can help.

You can book an Art Breakthrough Call with my team, like Kathleen did last a few weeks ago, at kelliedayart.com/booking, and we’ll help you find out where you are stuck, and what you need to move forward… and if we can help you, we’ll show you what that looks like.

**Please note** these calls are only for women who are ready to finally take their art to the next level, and get the support they need. Please don’t book a call if you are just looking for free information.

Don’t let another year go by without living your one precious  life as an Artist … It’s ALL POSSIBLE.

Happy holidays!
